MAREMI'S Illustration Collage Ephemera - Art Journalling MOSS STORIES

Maremi Small Art Moss Stories Collage Ephemera & Background Book

I’ve had my eye on one of Maremi Illustration Collage Ephemera collage books (designed by Marta Lapkowska)  for ages, and this week. I finally took the plunge and treated myself to the latest release of Maremi's book released this month. It's called 'MOSS Stories' —and oh my goodness, I’m so glad I did!

It only took two days to get here—how’s that for speedy delivery? I was seriously impressed!

Maremi's small art mixed media book, titled "Moss Stories," is a beautiful collection of small art pieces that celebrate the world of art and creativity. This unique book curates a diverse selection of elements, including 450 woodland images that can be used in collage making and art journaling. Each page is a reflection of my passion for creativity and attention to detail, featuring carefully selected images that inspire crafters to create their masterpieces.
Now I’m just itching to dive in. The pages are gorgeous, full of deliciously layered images and textures just begging to be cut up, torn, and used in my art journaling projects. I'm going to turn them into beautiful pages.

Think beautiful flowers, mushrooms, little house, elves, windows and doors and many more that can be used in collage making, art journaling, mixed media, ATC, junk journaling, and even cardmaking.

WHY I LOVE MAREMI SMALL ART COLLAGE EPHEMERA BOOKS

Art journaling with Maremi Moss's Stories collage book is like diving into a treasure trove of creativity. I love the tactile experience of flipping through its pages, each filled with whimsical designs and inspiring elements that spark my imagination.

Maremi's intricate collages and thoughtful compositions provide the perfect backdrop for my own artistic journey. It's not just about creating; it's about storytelling through colors, textures, and found objects. Each page I create becomes a unique reflection of my mood and thoughts, guided by Maremi's beautifully curated themes.

Here is my very first project using mixed media, paints, stenciling, and a few cut out images from the book, such as the butterflies and little birds.

WAYS YOU CAN USE YOUR COLLAGE BOOK

If you’ve got your hands on Maremi Moss’s Stories collage book, get ready—because there are so many fun and creative ways to use it! Whether you’re art journaling, making ATCs, creating handmade cards, or diving into a textured mixed media piece, this book is like a little goldmine of inspiration.

Each page is filled with beautifully designed elements, in a mix of sizes, that you can tear, cut, layer, and transform into something uniquely you. It’s perfect for adding that special touch to your projects without overthinking or overcomplicating things. From heartfelt cards to expressive journal spreads and everything in between, the possibilities are endless—and the best part is, there's no right or wrong way to use it. Just follow the spark and see where it takes you! Here are some ideas!

MIXED MEDIA PAGES

Using Maremi Moss’s Stories ephemera on a mixed media page is like opening a doorway to pure creative freedom. The images and textures are already full of character, which makes them perfect for layering into all that yummy mixed media goodness—think gesso, inks, stencils, texture paste… the whole shebang!

I love tearing the pages, distressing the edges, and tucking in little collage elements as I build up my background. The artwork blends so beautifully with paints and sprays, and it gives the page instant depth and storytelling.

JUNK JOURNALING

I love using Maremi Moss’s Stories images in my art journaling—it’s honestly one of my go-to creative tools. The pages are filled with dreamy images, soft vintage tones, and all these beautifully designed bits that just belong in an art journal. Whether I’m layering them into a background, using them as a focal point, or just letting them inspire the whole vibe of a page, they always add that special touch. Sometimes I start with a feeling or a quote, and flipping through the collage book helps me bring it all together visually. It’s such a relaxing and freeing process—no rules, just play. And Maremi’s designs? They make it so easy to create something that feels meaningful and totally me.

CARD MAKING

Using Maremi Moss’s Stories images for card making is such a treat—it’s like having a little secret stash of gorgeousness at your fingertips! The designs are soft, whimsical, and full of character, which makes them perfect for adding that wow factor to handmade cards. I love tearing out little elements—like a sweet butterfly, vintage tag, or delicate floral—and layering them up with papers, lace, or a stamped sentiment. It adds so much personality and charm without needing to overthink it.

CUTE ATC's

There’s something so satisfying about flipping through the book, tearing out a tiny floral bit or quirky label, and layering it up with washi, texture paste, or a splash of ink.

ATCs are all about expressing yourself in a small space, and this collage book makes it super easy—and fun—to create something beautiful and totally unique every time. It’s like having a stash of instant magic at your fingertips!

MY FIRST PAGE USING MOSS STORIES

My first page has that dreamy, storybook vibe that pulls you right in. I wanted some soft layers, delicate textures, and muted pastels to create a whimsical background. I used texture paste, sprays, inks and stamps to create the background. I cut out a sweet little mouse and the vintage-style butterflies, and used a frame with a florals border from my stash. The die-cut frame gives it a lovely focal point, almost like a little window into my creative world.
The sentiment “And the story begins…” ties it all together—it really feels like the beginning of a creative journey using my first book.

Til next time,

Julie ✂️

Life gets busy—like really busy. Between family, work, and all the other things we juggle, sometimes it feels like there’s no time to squeeze in a creative moment. That’s exactly why I started Monday Minis—my little way of carving out some “me-time” in the middle of the everyday chaos.

This is definitely one of those gotta capture the photo...moments, taken with a film camera over 30 years ago. Once upon a time, long ago, I worked for a photographer and of course he/we developed all the photos in a real darkroom. I was very luck I guess to get free film and the opportunity to develop my own photographs
