Some moments just have to be capturedโthis was one of them! Over 30 years ago, I snapped this sweet (and slightly messy) memory using a film camera. Working for a photographer back in the day meant I spent countless hours in a real darkroom, developing my own photos. One of the biggest perks? Free film and the chance to experiment with photography in a way that feels so nostalgic now.
This weekโs Monday Mini is inspired by that vintage snapshot and the unforgettable milestone of giving my daughter her very first chocolate biscuit. (Spoiler alert: The biscuit didnโt last long, but the mess sure did!)
Thereโs something so special about documenting everyday moments, especially ones that revolve around food. From first birthday cakes to favorite family recipes, snack-themed scrapbook layouts bring back all the warm, happy feelings.
This Mini captures the moment Aimee tried her first chocolate biscuit. I thought it would be a simple, adorable momentโbut oh, was I wrong! Within minutes, chocolate was everywhereโon her hands, her cheeks, even her hair! But her pure joy? Thatโs what made it worth it. Itโs those little messy, imperfect, and delightful moments that make scrapbooking so meaningful.

As always, I loveย using up leftover embellishments and papers, and this project was no exception. The patterned paper I used (though I canโt quite recall the name) features a stunning marble effect on one side and a soft pink on the other. Pairing it with a gold stripe adds that perfect touch of elegance while keeping the overall look fun and playful.
To break things up visually, I incorporated a second patterned paper "old Basic Grey paper" on the left sideโitโs such a small touch, but it really makes a difference! And the background? Thatโs actually aย sticky note that happened to match perfectly and just add a softeness to the background.ย Of course, no Mini of mine would be complete without a Project Life card sneaking its way in!

For this weekโs Mini, I kept things simple, elegant, and fun by mixing:
โ
Patterned Paper โ A marble-effect design paired with a soft pink background to pick up the pinks in the photo.
โ
Grip Paper โ The grid sticky note paper adds a subtle no fuss background.
โ
Vellum Accents โ The โREMEMBER THISโ script sentiment on vellum adds a dreamy, soft effect.
โ
Word Strips & Alpha Stickers โ โDATE", โ:SNACK" and FAVOURITEโ help tell the story.
โ
Stamped Black Hearts โ Just a few subtle details to tie it all together.
And the best part? I used leftover supplies from my stash! If you love stash-busting, Monday Miniโs are the perfect way to use up those bits and pieces that might otherwise go untouched.
ย
Whatโs a Mini without someย bling and dimension? I added a heart-shaped die cut, and a a circle of diamontes.ย This just used up some of my bits n pieces in my stash.
Want to create your own snack-inspired scrapbook page? Here are some fun ways to bring foodie memories to life in your projects:
Look for patterned papers featuring cupcakes, cookies, or picnic themes.
If you donโt have themed paper, try creating your own background by stamping tiny coffee cups, donuts, or sprinkles.
Mini pockets to hold recipe cards, food-related journaling, or even a menu from a favorite restaurant.
Flip-up sections that reveal a โbefore and afterโ of a messy snack moment!
This Mini was such a joy to put together, and it reminded me just how special it is to document those everyday momentsโthe ones that might seem small at the time but end up being some of our most cherished memories.
