✂️ Monday Minis – A Little Crafty Joy in a Small Package!

Life gets busy—like really busy. Between family, work, and all the other things we juggle, sometimes it feels like there’s no time to squeeze in a creative moment. That’s exactly why I started Monday Minis—my little way of carving out some “me-time” in the middle of the everyday chaos.

These are simple, bite-sized creative projects—always on a 6x6 layout—perfect for when you’re short on time but still want that crafty fix. There’s no pressure, no big plan, and definitely no messy mixed media (unless the mood strikes!). Just a little play with paper, photos, and leftover bits from my stash. It’s the perfect way to use up scraps, extra embellishments, or that one lonely flower that’s been sitting on your desk forever.

My Process

When I sit down to create a Monday Mini, I keep things easy and relaxed—this is about making something lovely without overthinking it. Here’s how I go about it:

It always starts with a photo. Just one two and often smaller in size, such as 3x4 inch or 2x2 or a mix. I choose the photo quite randomly, something that catches my eye or tugs at my heart. Maybe a cute moment, a sweet memory, or just a photo I’ve been meaning to scrap but haven’t had time for. Often the photos are left over from remaining larger 12x12 Scrapbook Layouts.

Then I head to my scrap box—you know the one overflowing with offcuts, half-used embellishments, lonely die-cuts, and that cute tag I didn’t end up using last week. I rummage through and pull out a few bits and pieces that coordinate with the photo—by colour, mood, or just because they feel right. I usually gather a small selection so I know I’ve got options to work with (and let’s be honest, I don’t always use everything—but that’s half the fun!).

My base is always a 6 x 6 cardstock sheet—sometimes patterned, sometimes plain. It gives me a nice little canvas to build on without feeling overwhelmed. The small size keeps the whole thing manageable and quick—no need to dig out every supply I own.

From there, it’s just playtime. I layer, shuffle, and glue as I go. No mixed media, no stamping marathons—just good old-fashioned papercrafting with what I’ve got on hand.

It’s my little Monday ritual—a creative reset that helps me start the week with a happy heart and a sense of accomplishment (even if the laundry's still waiting!).

My You Tube Channel

Sometimes I film the process and share it on my YouTube channel, so if you're after a little inspo or want to craft along with me, be sure to check that out too!

So if your week’s off to a wild start, grab a coffee, set a timer for 30 minutes, and join me on a Monday night and create along with me.  It’s amazing how some creative time can set you up for a great week.  💖
