This layout beautifully captures grandkiddies (siblings moment). Layla is sitting on a picnic blanket, holding her sister Remi, who’s clutching a yellow toy and looking adorably serious. The backyard setting, with green grass and sunshine, captures a perfect summer day.
In this mini, I used one photo as the centerpiece. It’s printed with the white photo border and I used this to look like a photo matt.
I went through my stash and found some neutral embellishments which I thought would work well with the photo, and focused my choices on the peach and blue in the picnic blanket.
I also chose a coral red base to start this mini. I also chose some wavy blue and some soft peach and yellow papers. These colours bring warmth and tie in beautifully with Remi’s yellow toy.
Finally, I thought it would be nice to add a touch of greenery to highlight the green grass in the photo and also some touches of white to ground the brighter tones and let the photo shine.
Diecut Title - “I often use little leftover die-cuts, and the little 'Love This" die cut works as a little title.
“Hello” Vertical Accent - On the left side, bringing balance to the left, and I tucked it under paper.
Floral Embellishments - Soft vellum-like flowers with yellow centers + leaf clusters.
Birdhouse Cluster (bottom right) - With a sweet bird, yellow flower bunch, and house cut-out.
Scalloped Circle Edge - Peeking out from behind the photo, adding a playful softness.
Date Stamp – “11 Nov 2023” with the days of the week underneath (Saturday circled), adding that vintage-diary feel.
Several small typed word strips are on the left hand side of the photo. I often type my journalling and cut it into strips. As generally, speaking, I don't like my hand writing.
